From African traditions comes an exciting audience participation program that immerses the audience in rhythm. In African society, music is an indispensable element in social and religious rites. Professor Dada Nii’s percussion workshops enable participants of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to experience the pulsating rhythms and instruments of Africa for themselves!

Developed by African slaves at least 400 years ago as a form of self defence disguised as dance, Capoeira has been handed down through generations in urban Brazilian Bahia. Capoeira is an exciting sport mixing fighting, dancing and music. The emphasis is not on how well you perform, but on how much energy you commit to trying!
