National Tour

Mattopancetta on tour April to November 2010

Sides will split as Cultural Infusion’s nationally acclaimed Commedia dell’Arte duo Mattopancetta take to the stage on a hilarious journey of improvisation influenced by 15th Century Italian classical theater. It’s loud, dramatic, clever comedy with zany characters that will keep audiences laughing for days afterwards.

Students will be introduced to the traditional masks of the Commedia dell’ Arte characters including the gullible Venetian merchant, Pantalone, and the greedy Wildman, Arleccino. Cultural Infusion presents,

Mattopancetta's brand new hilarious show,
‘The Greatest Pie in the World’.

Pantalone has created the greatest pie in the world for his love interest Columbina. His servant, Arlecchino is instructed to deliver the pie to her but Scuramuccia causes a stir and the pie goes missing. Typically, ‘zany’s’ desire to eat outweighs their desire to work. Help Arlecchino to find the pie and the girl as they go on a madcap journey.

This interactive performance is suitable for both primary and secondary audiences. Cultural Infusion offer schools an opportunity to gain a better understanding of theatre-style Commedia dell'Arte, by offering group workshops run by the artis from Mattopancetta.
