The Underbelly Children's Show is a colourful, fun and educational music and dance experience that children from all cultural backgrounds and ages will enjoy. The show entails live Belly dance and music performances (using a variety of traditional instruments and costumes/props), a discussion on the significance of music and dance in Middle Eastern cultures and an interactive component where games are used to teach the children simple Belly dance moves and rhythms.

The instruments used in Middle Eastern music and the costumes worn are described and there is ample time for a question and answer session.  The children are also encouraged to try on some costume pieces and play instruments along with the performers - though this is limited to a small number of volunteers when audience groups are large.
